Salem Community Benefit

In 1997, to celebrate our 75th anniversary, the bank established a philanthropic foundation, Salem Community Benefit: a foundation built to help meet the various charitable needs of our community.

Salem Community Benefit is funded completely by Salem
Co-operative Bank. This is just one of the ways in which we’re able to give back to the greater Salem community and participate in direct giving to projects and organizations that could use our help.
Since inception, the foundation has contributed more than $1,824,484 to organizations such as:

To get started, you’ll need:
  • A copy of the organization’s IRS determination letter as a non-profit.
  • A list of the Board of Directors/Trustees and other members of the organization’s governing body.
  • Audited financial statements or a copy of the last tax filing with the IRS.
  • The organization’s current operating budget and project budget if applicable.
  • Board of Directors/Trustee resolution of Authority for this application.
  • A completed application form.
